Day 1: Welcome to the Capital of Sweden

Your holiday begins at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport where you will be greeted and driven to your hotel in the heart of Sweden’s remarkable capital. For those who arrive early, we recommend buying the Stockholm Card, which offers free admission to nearly 75 museums and free travel on Stockholm’s public transit system. Suggested attractions include the Vasa Ship Museum, the Royal Castle or City Hall’s famous Blue Hall, site of the annual Nobel Prize banquet. Spend the night in Stockholm.

Day 2: Stunning Stockholm

Use this day to explore more of magnificent Stockholm. We recommend a visit to the city’s charming Old Town with its narrow alleys and well-preserved medieval houses or a guided tour at the Viking mounds in nearby Uppsala. Enjoy the afternoon at Fjäderholmarna (summer only), the closest of Stockholm’s Archipelago islands, where you can join a guided tour, browse the local handicraft shops and perhaps enjoy an authentic Swedish dinner at your choice of restaurants. Spend another night in Stockholm.

Day 3: Railway Journey to Gothenburg

Board the train for Gothenburg in the morning, and enjoy the scenery of central Sweden as you sit back and relax on this comfortable trip! After you have arrived and settled in at your hotel in Gothenburgs’s centre, we highly recommend a stroll along Avenyn, the main shopping and dining street. Spend the night in Gothenburg.

Highlights:

Day 4: Free day in Gothenburg

Spend the day taking in more of the sights in Gothenburg, Sweden's second largest city, perhaps with a guided canal or bus tour. To make the most of your day, we highly recommend getting the Gothenburg City Card, which provides free travel on the city trams and ferries as well as free admission to museums and other attractions, like the Liseberg amusement park. Spend another night in Gothenburg.

Day 5: Awe-inspiring Oslo

In the morning, board the train for Oslo, Norway’s magnificent capital. From your hotel conveniently located in the heart of the city, you have easy access to many of Oslo’s beautiful parks and top attractions, such as Bogstadveien, the main shopping street, where you can find a variety of restaurants and cafes for this evening. Spend the night in Oslo.

Highlights:

Day 6: Memorable Journey to Bergen

Get an early start to Oslo Central Station for today's adventure. The Bergensbanen railway, voted one of the 20 best in the world, winds though Norway’s breathtaking mountainous terrain on its way to Bergen, taking you through the charming villages of Gol and Geilo before a stop at Myrdal to switch trains. The next 20 km of the journey is on the famous Flåm Railway, taking you 900 metres down to the charming village of Flåm. From there, enjoy a boat ride through Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord, the narrowest fjord in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage site, and a bus ride up Stalheimskleiva, Northern Europe’s steepest stretch of road with 13 hairpin bends. After a short break to enjoy the view*, the bus continues to Voss so you can board the train again to Bergen. Spend the night in Bergen.

* Please note that the bus road up to Stalheimskleiva is only operated May-September. At other times the bus goes directly to Voss

Day 7: History Comes to Life in Bergen

Norway’s second largest city and “Capital of the Fjords” has no shortage of activities! Your centrally-located makes an excellent starting point for exploring the cultural and historical highlights of this must-see city. Visit Bryggen, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which dates back 900 years as a major Hanseatic trading centre. You can also catch a glimpse of the local culture at the lively Fish Market or ride the Floybanen Funicular to Mount Floyen for an amazing panoramic view over the city. We also recommend an afternoon ride on the mini-train sightseeing tour around the city centre. Spend another night in Bergen.

Highlights:

Day 8: Departure

For transportation to Bergen-Flesland Airport, you can take the airport bus (Flybussen) from one of the various departure points in the city centre or you can take a taxi directly from your hotel. If your flight is in the afternoon, you have the opportunity for some last-minute shopping or a visit to one of Bergen‘s museums.
