I would highly recommend Nordic Visitor
Overall, we found the experience of working with Irja and Nordic Visitor to be very, very good. Irja was very helpful and responsive to all our questions - and we had many questions! Everything went just as she said it would. She even gave us maps of all the cities with points of interest highlighted and little arrows pointing out the hotel and any locations we needed to be get to, such as tour locations, train stations and ferry terminals. That was a very nice touch and was very helpful. The hotels were all very well located and very comfortable. I would highly recommend Nordic Visitor to anyone planning to travel to the Scandinavian countries.

Fantastic, memorable time
We had a fantastic, memorable time, with just the right amount of planned activities and free time to explore on our own. Many thanks to Irja!

Everything I hoped for
This trip was everything I hoped for. I booked this trip - 5 new countries - as a celebration of my 50th birthday. Everything that Nordic Visitor and Jennie did was fantastic. I got sick on the first day but Jennie helped me with the missed tour and smoothed everything out. Our hotels were great and in great locations. All of the instructions in the welcome package were spot on. Randy especially loved all the marked maps. Each city map looks very well-worn now because we carried them everywhere to plan our next move all day long. We are very active and were covering 12-15 miles on foot each day. The maps kept us on course and let us know where to head next. When we stopped for dinner on the way home from the airport back in LA, I asked Randy what he would change about the trip and his answer was, "Nothing." That sums it up! Thank you soooooo much for making this trip the celebration I needed.
The Nordic Countries in a Nutshell – May 2012
Perfect trip
I think the trip was outstanding in every way and I greatly appreciated Erla's assistance to me in planning and preparing the trip. She was very conscientious and thorough and very helpful, despite some discrepancies in preparing the itineraries. None of that was a problem. Erla was always quick to clarify program itineraries, answer my questions and assist me in every way to ensure a great and smooth trip. The trip and hotels she selected for me in Stockholm, Helsinki and Reykjavik were so comfortable with excellent service. Really excellent! Further, everything I saw in Iceland was just amazing! I loved Iceland and I am grateful for having had the chance to see the Northern Lights among many other beautiful things the country has to offer. The transfers, tickets, guides..all, were just outstanding, courteous, helpful, attentive and punctual. Overall, it was a perfect trip and I thank you so much for your services.

There's no better way to go about travelling in Scandinavia
The trip exceeded any of my expectations by a considerable stretch! I couldn't have possibly fathomed how much perspective, personal growth, & pure happiness I'd gain from it. Not to boast or anything, but I am quite apt at using words to convey my thoughts. In this case, however, I just can't seem to be able (to my satisfaction) to dig up the right words to fully express my feelings & take on this trip…
The trip was a delight - no, a 1000 times more than a delight! I couldn't have chosen a better company/agency/intermediate than Nordic Visitor. Travelling with Nordic Visitor was a breeze (effortless literally) & couldn't have been any better! I would stake my reputation in recommending them. There's no better way to go about travelling in Scandinavia, hands-down! Whatever you're looking for, you've most definitely come to the right place!

Thank you for your efforts in organizing our vacation
Dear Cecilia,
Back home! The voyage to Scandinavian countries was really beautiful. We had good weather - maybe too warm for what we expected to be - but absolutely nice. The Hurtigruten cruise was indeed the highlight of this journey - as you said ! Impressive landscape, but also good conditions for accommodation - we think in the future to try also the Arctic offer. Meanwhile, thank you for your efforts in organizing our vacation. All the best, from - a still hot - Bucharest !

Our experience thanks to you was just great
Hi Cecilia!....... Well, we back and what a great adventure and experience we had. For two 70 year olds we did it and had a great time doing it. Let me start on the next paragraph giving you my synopsis of our trip. I'm sure Doris will send you a separate email giving her experience and thanking you for your efforts.
As you're aware we did the Helsinki leg of the trip without incident and then we were off to Stockholm. As far as Helsinki goes it was a good place to start. The hotel was good but we feel the hotels that followed were much better. However, Doris liked the room in Helsinki the best. As we found in Helsinki and the other cities everyone seemed to be on "Holiday" with their children in tow. However, this was nice to see and experience. Children very well behaved. The boat trip to Stockholm was just unbelievable in Doris' eyes. The Commodore Class room was great. I would recommend it.
After meeting you in Stockholm we were off on the journey of seeing everything we could and most importantly what Doris wanted to see. We had the "On and Off Boat" pass and that seemed to take us to most or near the places we wanted to see. We walked our legs off but that was good for us and we got to see a lot. When we would get lost we would just stop someone and ask them either where we were and how to get to the next stop. We saw the changing of the guard and what a great experience. I took my video camera and got most of the event. Doris will I'm sure tell you how much she enjoyed the Stieg Larsson tour. For me, since I hadn't read any of his books, it was just a walk in Stockholm which I found very interesting. Our first night one of the front desk people recommended a restaurant not far from the hotel. We spent just a little over $200 US and had a great experience. I will comment at this point to say, "the food in Scandinavia isn't cheap" but the experience makes up for it. We found most hotel locations, if not all, very accommodating regarding being located near the places we wanted to see and traveling out of each city. Oh yes, the Ice Bar the last evening was a great experience.
The train ride to Oslo was very nice but the train could have been just a little nicer. No air conditioning and it got hot. However, you could open some of the windows which some people did. We arrived at the Oslo station and proceeded to find a taxi. At the specific location we were there were no taxi's. We stopped a young lady and asked her where the taxi's were. She told us that we didn't want to take a taxi in Oslo because they were most expensive. We showed her the location of our hotel on our map and she proceeded to tell us what but to take and how much it would cost. She then offered to go with us to make sure we got off at the right spot. She went with us and when we got to our hotel she pointed it out and we got off and thanked her ever so much. That in itself speaks very highly of Scandinavian people. I'm sure Doris will expand upon this experience. Overnight and off to Myrdal, Norway to connect with the Flam RR. The train out of Oslo was very nice. When we arrived at the station that morning we asked some ladies in uniform for help and directions. Come to find out one of the ladies husband is in love with Texas and they bought a place not too far from us and will be coming to the area in October but just for a visit and to work on their property. Doris exchanged names and address so that when they are here we can meet them and show them our hospitality. The Flam RR is a great experience. We arrived Flam and went directly to our hotel. Again, great accommodations. We had a nice dinner at the hotel and the next day was not the best. Rain from early morning and along our trip through the Fjords. It was cloudy and rainy all the way to Bergen. We would say that was the worst experience of the trip but no fault to anyone except "Mother Nature".
Our arrival in Bergen was in the rain. We took a taxi to the hotel and at first I was a little upset at our initial experience. However, from there it was one of our best experiences. The room was nice and the food was great. As you so exceptionally did, at each hotel our breakfast meal was included. If this was not to your doing please take the credit anyway. Ha! We always had a big breakfast and then in Bergen our hotel offered a late dinner which was included as well. We both felt like we were gaining weight but not so when I got on the scales this a.m. Again, the weather in Bergen seemed to be not so good regarding rain. We ventured out anyway and took in the local sites. In Bergen they had a free bus which they called the "Blue Bus" which came in handy as we moved about the city. Unfortunately, I caught a cold which slowed me up a bit. Later, thanks to me Doris caught it. Finally, the last day the sun popped out and we got to see Bergen in the sun. Neat city.
Off to Oslo! Leaving Bergen we took the "Blue Bus" from our hotel to a bus stop which was about 200 meters from the train station. The train ride to Oslo was very accommodating. We arrived at the station and again thanks to the young lady who had helped us the first time we were able to take the bus and find our hotel. The following day we were off to see all the sites which Doris had written down. I will let her expand on this part of our trip. Other than a few sites I would say Oslo was not my favorite place along the way. We did it and then we were off to take the boat for Copenhagen. Again, the boat experience was great due to the upgrade accommodations. It was well worth the additional cost.
Not to take anything away from any of the traveled cities, but Copenhagen was the best for me with Stockholm a very close second. Our hotel was great. The location of the hotel was great and everything about the city was a neat experience. I'm sure Doris will tell you about this but when we went to see the changing of the guard our first day out, we went to where it would take place and ventured to the middle of the open area. A man was standing there and I asked him if this was a good place to see the changing of the guard. He point to a place not more than five paces from where we were standing and said that's the place. When it got closer he said stand next to me and the procession will come right by us. As we talked to him we found that he had lived in Copenhagen all his life and was a retired school teacher. He had never married and he cared for his parents in their later years. He was so helpful and gave us more information than we could have ever wanted from a private tour guide. Because of this we offered to take him to lunch which he accepted. He was everything he presented himself to be. A small man in his stature and even shorter than Doris. He walked us after lunch to our hotel area pointing out things along the way. He was a very shy man but was most appreciative of our gesture regarding lunch. What a great experience. My recommendations to people who travel abroad is make conversation if it's just asking a question. The results will prove out great. We walked the famous shopping street and saw all the Mimes along the way. We stopped at a local library where they had a restaurant and ate on two occasions.
Cecilia, our experience thanks to you was just great. Please take our compliments and if you ever need a recommendation, please do not hesitate in giving our name and email address. We had a wonderful time. Our trip home was another experience which I will save to another time.
